Rare Josip Povischil bentwood dining chairs with decorative details, Set of two
1 in stock
These chairs are extremely beautiful and very rare, they are over 100 years old and made in the Austro-Hungarian period of the carpenters collective which included the likes of Thonet and Kaiser.
They are now classed as museum pieces and are collectible furniture.
The chairs have lots of decorative details to them, nice spindles, solid bentwood and burnt art on the seats.
Due to their age they have suffered from a light amount of marks and scratches and just a few worm holes (not currently occupied and hardly visible). In the right hands they could last another 100 years.
They are signed and stamped by Josip himself in 1903 and most likely made from elm wood.
